About

“Tríptico” is the Spanish and Portuguese translation of the English “triptych”--broadly speaking, a piece of art comprising three parts. Tríptico Editions, an international independent publisher operating out of Los Angeles, New York City, and Madrid, was conceived by a trio of friends who bonded in grad school over their love of reading, writing, and translation. We aim to publish fiction, nonfiction, and/or poetry in English (in the original and in translation) written by emerging and established voices from around the world.

We especially strive to introduce to the North American English-reading market the outstanding work of yet-to-be translated Spanish- and Portuguese-writing authors from south of the US border and across the Atlantic Ocean.

Inspired by Octavio Paz’s definition of the literary process, wherein a text “is fully realized only in participation: without a reader it is only half a work,” our mission is to foster a global community of engaged authors and readers who, together, bring life to great writing.
